Elk Grove (Calif.) Pleasant Grove high school star Xavier Thames is back in another BearTerritory feature. This time, we spotlight the 6-foot-2, 175-pound Eagle playmaker in high-color for his first Rivals photo segment.
As BearTerritory documented in Spotlighting Xavier Thames, the Pleasant Grove point guard had a marvelous sophomore year. He finished the year off in style with a 37-point performance against Sheldon – the former school of Duke superstar DeMarcus Nelson.
What else is there to know about Thames?
"The best player I've ever went up against was Brandon Jennings (2008 USC verbal)," Thames said. "He's really explosive. I thought I hung with him well for awhile, and stopped a few of his moves. But he shoots it really well, and his first step is hard to get in front of. He can do it all."
"I battled him at the Pangos last summer," Thames added.
